Mardi Gras New Orleans
Our Price: $300.00
With his keen sense of color and interest in documenting daily life, Chief Willey rendered a clear scene of Mardi Gras familiar to New Orleans residents. The Rex Parade shows off the extravagant floats and costumes which are symbols of the ritual of Mardi Gras parades. Of the multitude of crews that conduct parades during Mardi Gras, Rex is considered the King of Carnival. In this scene, the beginning of the parade has passed Lee Circle on its way downtown to New Orleans historic French Quarter.
